Elevation Therapeutic
Dear amazing human,
Welcome to a safe and supportive space where you can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. It takes courage to seek help, and I admire you for taking this step towards a healthier, happier you.
As a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Florida, my mission is to provide that safe, supportive space for you. I am driven to facilitate a space where you can release your burdens, gain insight and develop coping skills and strategies that lead to maximum personal growth and transformation.
Together, we will unpack your feelings, thoughts, and beliefs – often the very things that can get in our way and prevent us from having the life experiences we desire. We will reconstruct them through gentle investigation, deep self-compassion, and humor – lots of humor! Remember, "One day, the mountain that is in front of you will be far behind you, it will barely be visible in the distance." (Brianna Wiest)
I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
Thank you, Latoya Smith LCSW

I hope it gives you renewed hope to know that you're not alone.

feeling overwhelmed? You’re driving home from work and instead of enjoying the tunes of your favorite song, you’re ruminating over events that occurred throughout the work day. Or maybe, you find yourself mentally agonizing over the laundry list of responsibilities that will greet you the moment you arrive at your front door. Juggling life responsibilities can be difficult because so many are relying on you and so much is expected of you. This makes it hard to make space for your own self-care. You put yourself last because no one will become upset or disappointed in you for doing that. You put yourself last until you have absolutely nothing else to give.
But even then, you continue to try and pour from an empty cup.
You're feeling sad, lonely, misunderstood, and unsupported. No one seems to be aware that you're wounded because you're still showing up to fight life battles. Or maybe you find yourself reaching out to family and friends to inform them of what you’re going through and with the best intentions, they do not have the skills to provide you with the mental health support that you need. Although they love you and desperately want you to feel better, their words are like echo chambers of words already spoken and heard, offering no new perspective or resolve.
I want you to know that you don't have to figure this out on your own. I am here to help.
